Young Artist Solo Competition Concert
Sylvania Community Orchestra Concert – 4:00 p.m. – March 8, 2026
Join the Sylvania Community Orchestra at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, live from Lourdes University’s Franciscan Center for a free community concert. The Sylvania Community Orchestra (SCO) and Sylvania Arts are excited to introduce the winner of their second annual Young Artists Solo Competition. After receiving many excellent audition recordings the solo competition jury had the formidable task of selecting just one soloist to perform on stage with the SCO. The SCO and Sylvania Arts are pleased to announce that the 2026 winner is Eddie Kruse who will be performing movement 1 of Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C Major. The program will also include Grieg’s Symphonic Dances, Haydn’s Symphony No. 104, Delibes’ Valse from Coppelia and Chance’s Variations on a Korean Folk Song.
This concert is brought to you through the generous support of our friends and sponsors: Jane Zbinden, Lane Montz and the Better Business Bureau Foundation, Lourdes University, the Ohio Arts Council, the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, the City of Toledo, Lucas County, and Lock It Up Storage.
