2018 Youth Theatre Classes Begin the Week of February 26th, 2018!

The Sylvania Community Arts Commission is again offering our Youth Theatre Class 10 week series. This year we will be offering a young beginner class for students in grades 2-3, an intro class for students in grades 4-12, an advanced class for students in grades 4-12 (with previous experience) and a directing class for students in grades 4-12. For 2018 classes will be held in the Carriage House (located behind the Museum House of the Sylvania Historical Village). Classes begin the week of February 26th and run for 10 consecutive weeks, with the exception of the week of Sylvania Schools spring break.

OUR DIRECTORS: Irina Zaurov has been our Creative Director of the SCAC Youth Theatre Program for multiple years. She and Rona Simon created this program for Sylvania children to help engage and educate them on the joys of theatre. She has coached and taught more than 800 children through this program alone. She also has extensive knowledge in dramaturgy, choreography, puppetry, etc. She has been recognized by a myriad of local companies for her expertise in theatre and work with children, teens, and adults. Irina’s Assistant Director is Jennifer Wegman. Jennifer is not only the program assistant for Youth Theatre, but also is the SCAC Executive Assistant and works regularly as an Assistant Director and in production roles for our Tree City Playhouse.
