The Shorties: A Shorter Short Film Challenge

The Shorties: A Shorter Short Film Challenge invites any student, grades kindergarten through 12th, to create and submit a short film (less than 3 minutes long, and as short as you want it to be) using the digital devices they currently use.  Students are encouraged to work with friends and family to create art in the form of film – whether it be a script that they produce or a video of a performance, we are simply challenging them to create!  Approved entries are shown on the “big screen” during the festival weekend and students will get to walk the red carpet. Get working on your movie and enter it for the screening at Northview High School on April 30th at 3:30 PM. Films must be submitted to us by April 23rd to be accepted to the Shorties (read on for how to get us your film).

How to Enter Your Film

After your film is done, be sure to have everyone in it get a consent form signed by a parent. Once you have those forms, please send them snail mail to the SCAC office at 5725 Main Street, Sylvania, OH 43560. You can also scan the forms and email them to director@sylvaniaarts.org. Click here for the SHORTIES Release and Consent form.

Forms complete and sent on their way? Next step, get us your movie!
